We've been hearing these words, "Which ministry are you involved in?" If you say no, then they'll ask you why. Either you should be involved in preaching or at least you should be taking offering in the Church. If you are not involved in any of these activities, then, the Christian world tags you as "Worldly".
Is it really true that we should be involved in Church activities or in some form of ministry? Did Jesus ask us all to be involved in ministry? Does The Bible say this?
The most famous verse they quote is...
'And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”' Matthew 10:42 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.10.42
This verse is part of a passage where Jesus sends out His disciples to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. While He commissioned them, He was giving some instructions on how to behave when they are out in doing their ministry. For example,...
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
As He was saying all these, He says
“Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41 Whoever welcomes a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever welcomes a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.
42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”
The whole passage is about the instructions given to the disciples while commissioning them and this particular verse where He says if anyone gives a cup of water...talks about the favor shown to the disciples by anyone while on their ministry.
It is not at all talking about everyone doing ministry or God asking everyone to do ministry or God says that if anyone involves in ministry, God will reward them.
Certainly NOT. It's all bullshit. Our pastors have made a mess of it.
I tell you, your profession is your ministry. The one you like the most, the one you do the best !!!
You know why?
The talent what we have, was given by God himself. He has put that right there in the genes and He also gives appropriate education, training and experience by showing the way, which course we should take, where we should study, where we should work...That is why He says
'I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. ' Psalms 32:8 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/PSA.32.8

Having said this, did you know that we are also part of Preaching Gospel.
How? Tithes.
You give Tithes, God gives ideas to prosper in your profession, then your earning keeps growing. 10% Tithes keeps increasing. Funding to the Church will keep increasing. They will have sufficient funding to extend their ministries, preaching Gospel to the ends of the earth. Many will join Christ body, the Church and the just saved will also start giving tithes. Then, God gives ideas to prosper in their profession. That 10% tithes increases. Funding to the Church keeps increasing exponentially.
So, you just imagine if everybody does their God-given ministry which is their profession, there will not any shortage for money in the Churches.
This is the financial system that God intended. This is the God's way. Abundance in the Churches and in the families.
Instead of following this, everybody wants to preach Gospel as they think that is THE ministry.
I'm telling you that your profession is your ministry. In Genesis, there is a character as Nimrod and it says that he was a mighty warrior. But, it doesn't stop with that. It says that he was a mighty warrior before the Lord. He was successful in his job. It is considered as an achievement before the Lord.
"He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: why it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. " Genesis 10:9
Having said this, I believe that there is a difference in this God given ministry, according to the gender. Both Male and Female were created by God and were given different roles in the very beginning, Garden of Eden itself. For Adam, God gave work first and then family. That is why, even today, if a male wants to marry, he is expected to have a job. But, for Eve, God gave Adam. So, for a female, the God given ministry is to take care of her husband and not her profession. Read Family, an Institution.
