The Bible says “Be fruitful and multiply”.
Genesis 1:28 (NKJV)
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
What is the meaning of being fruitful? The Merriam-Webster dictionary gives the meaning of the word, fruitful as “abundantly productive”
In what way you should be productive?
In what way, God expects you to be productive?
In what way, God has empowered us to be productive?
You should read my articles on God’s Will, so that you would understand this better. God has given a greatest blessing to be productive and expects us to be productive. Read the article on God’s Will to find out what is that greatest and unique blessing that God has given us.
But most of the people have misunderstood this verse and have taken it as simply being reproductive and filling the earth. If that is true, we wouldn’t be no higher than animals. But God created us in His own image and likeness.
In simple terms, be productive and then be reproductive. Both are entirely different.
