I’ve heard this statement from childhood “Prayer is victory”. So, people keep praying all the time. Early morning 4 am people get up and pray. Then they get ready after 6 and go for their duties. Then, in the evening they form prayer groups and pray. Every month first day, they go to church early in the morning and pray. And above all, they pray all night !!! its called All Night Prayer.
After doing so much of prayer, what do we achieve? Nothing. I tell you, literally nothing.
Why?
What is Prayer? Talking to God. Of course, there are instances in The Bible where people have prayed in various timings and types and The Bible also teaches us to pray.
But, my question is why talk to God? To get answers? or simply chatting? Why should we pray? The Bible itself says why to pray. It clearly states in many places that you pray to get the answers. If that is the case, why people who pray so much are not blessed; are not victorious in their life. Why?
How does God answer our prayers? When we ask, He blesses us not with money or material blessings. He gives ideas to earn those blessings. He gives ideas so that we may be victorious.
To be blessed like this, should we pray like as mentioned earlier? The Bible says that we should pray continuously. How can we do that? When we are at the job, how can we pray? Is it practically possible? Certainly not. God is with us always. So, talk to Him always wherever you are. Not in the posture as we do traditionally. Do it as you are doing your work as you talk to another person.
I do not mean that we should not pray giving a separate time and place. It is good that we do that. But, it shouldn’t be like as I said earlier. It shouldn’t be in a way that it affects our profession. Because anyway God is going to give you only ideas when you pray. It should be executed by us. So, if you are going to be always in prayer groups, when are you going to have time to execute the ideas that God gives. Now, you may understand why people don’t get blessed even though they pray too much.
