The human system consists of 12 pairs of ribs irrespective of their sex. This observation was first made by an anatomist, Andreas Vesalius. People including Christians throughout the world see this observation as contrary to The Bible. It is because of the people’s belief that males should lack one rib bone as it was taken out of Adam and used for creating Eve.
Now, my question is “Why should every male should lack a rib bone just because one rib bone was surgically removed by God out of Mr. Adam at the Garden of Eden ?”
Does every child have only one hand that is born to a father who lost his hand in an accident?
Did God say that “Every Male Shall Lack A Rib Bone Hereafter” ?
Did God remove the genes responsible for that rib bone so that it doesn’t develop in the next generation?
The Bible describes the way how Eve was created by God. It clearly and simply states in Genesis 2:21 (NASB)…
'So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. ' Genesis 2:21-22

I do not see any difficulty in understanding these simple statements where there has been a surgery done by God himself just to take out a rib bone. So, certainly Mr. Adam must have lacked that rib bone for his life time. Because, neither God said that he will develop that bone again nor he said “Let that rib bone develop now” after the surgery. The Bible says that he closed up the flesh at that place. But, this does not mean that every male that is born after Adam should lack that rib bone. Moreover, after Eve was created, no single female had to be created. Whether male or female, thereafter, had to be born not created which is God’s Will since he kept that ability to reproduce its own kind within itself including human beings.
I also came across a link (http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/31487/did-god-change-the-dna-and-genetics-of-adams-rib) which is really interesting. The author talks about genetics in creation. Because I am a Medical Lab Technologist and a Biotechnologist, I believe that I am the right person to explain on this topic. When God took a bone from Adam, He did not take it to make an exact copy of it. If He had made an exact copy, then the other product must have been a Male…logically!!!
In Biotechnology, we use a technical word “template”, which means “with which you make something else”; not an exact copy; but another product using this as a source material. For example, in a very commonly used technique called “Polymerase Chain Reaction”, we use DNA as template to amplify the gene of interest to many number. Now, the product is not exact copy of the DNA we used as a template. Instead, the product is the amplified copy of only the gene(s) of interest; not the whole DNA (genome). So, the point I am making here is that God used the bone from Adam as template to create another human being as “Female”. Because, His intention was not to create a being of another species rather He created similar being and not a clone.
He must have specifically used the bone as all the cells in our body are produced from bone marrow which is core of the bone. There are a special type of cells called Stem cells in the bone marrow which give rise to all the types through differentiation.
I would also like to place another scientific proof for the first time ever to substantiate the fact that female was created from male. We all know with basic biology that male and female difference is because of two different hormones called Testosterone and Estrogen. Biochemically these two hormones that make such a big impact on the system by differentiating it into two genders, are biosynthesized by a single biochemical pathway. Have you ever noticed before? Its called androgenic pathway. It starts from Cholesterol as the precursor molecule and in the last step of the biosynthetic pathway, there is an enzyme called aromatase (which is my PhD work) which makes that difference. This enzyme, aromatase converts the male hormone, testosterone into estradiol (E2), which is the potent female hormone; meaning that the potent female hormone itself is produced from the male hormone, testosterone. Hence, I say that this itself is a very strong proof that God created female from a male. So, we may also say that “the female created from male” did not happen only in the creation. It happens even now; female hormone is synthesized from male hormone. If you did not understand whatever I said until now, just have a look at the picture of the biochemical pathway below. Don’t get confused. Just look at the marked area at the lower part of the figure. You may get the help of anyone from any life sciences like biochemistry, microbiology etc.
