The Bible says that we are the Salt and Light of the world. Why did He say that? What is the meaning of these statements?
Matthew 5:13 (NKJV)
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
Matthew 5:14 (NKJV)
14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Jesus said that we are the salt and light of the world.
I tell you that the literal meaning of the statement is that salt denotes basic necessities of life and light denotes innovation.
Jesus said so because God has already blessed us with all the capabilities to be the salt and light of the world – sixth sense; logical reasoning. Moreover, God guides us with His eye (God’s guidance) and He promises us that He will bless the work of our hands; the blessings which others who do not know God, can not have.
That’s why God says that only we can be the salt and light of the world meeting the basic necessities and innovating for betterment of life everyday through God’s ideas in our sixth sense (logical reasoning) and help to execute them.
